S.E.E.R rating

What is a S.E.E.R rating?

SEER is the measure of efficiency by which the cooling process of air conditioners and heat pumps is rated. The higher the SEER number, the greater the efficiency, which yields greater energy savings.

The SEER is defined as the total cooling output (in British thermal units or Btu) provided by the unit during its normal annual usage period divided by its total energy input (in watt-hours) during the same period.

For today’s products, the government requires a minimum SEER rating of 13.0. but older pieces of cooling equipment may be operating with a SEER rating as low as 8.0! This means that you’re wasting a lot of energy and money. Read through the lists below and find out which one is best for you!

Air Conditioners

Single Stage 13 S.E.E.R.* Air Conditioner

This basic air conditioner meets all of the government minimum standards for efficiency as well as refrigerant regulations, while providing reliable cooling. This system can provide up to 50% in energy savings depending on your old unit.

Single Stage 14-16 S.E.E.R. Air Conditioners**

These premium air conditioners exceed the government minimum efficiency standards which can reduce your cooling costs by as much as 65%. They also utilize the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-410A. Most qualify as an Energy Star product.

2 Stage 16-20 S.E.E.R. Air Conditioners

If you are looking for the best overall comfort and energy efficiency this is the system for you. These elite air conditioners provide the very best dehumidification as well as the best energy efficiency ratings available (up to 70% savings) by providing only the amount of cooling required to keep you comfortable. By utilizing 2-stage technology these units can provide up to 6 to 7 times better dehumidification than single stage systems. A variable speed furnace or air handler is required to operate this type of system.

Heat Pump Systems

We service all makes and models of air to air heat pumps, however we only sell and install the brands that offer the highest quality and provide the best consumer protection available on the market today. Heat pump technology has made tremendous advancements in recent years helping to eliminate the claim that “heat pumps are cold heat.” Let FasTrack Mechanical help you select the perfect heat pump system to match your family’s needs and budget.

Single Stage 13 S.E.E.R. Heat Pump

This basic heat pump meets all of the government minimum standards for efficiency as well as refrigerant regulations, while providing reliable cooling. This system can provide up to 50% in energy savings depending on your old unit. These units provide HSPF ratings of up to 9*

Single Stage 14-16 S.E.E.R. Heat Pumps

These premium heat pumps exceed the government minimum efficiency standards which can reduce your cooling costs by as much as 65%. They also utilize the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-410A. Most qualify as an Energy Star product. These units provide HSPF ratings of up to 9.5.

2 Stage 16-19 S.E.E.R. Heat Pumps

If you are looking for the best overall comfort and energy efficiency this is the system for you. These elite heat pumps provide the very best dehumidification as well as some of the best energy efficiency ratings available (up to 19 S.E.E.R and 10 H.S.P.F. providing up to 70% savings) by providing only the amount of heating and cooling required keeping you comfortable at all times. By utilizing 2-stage technology these units can provide up to 6 to 7 times better dehumidification than single stage systems. A variable speed furnace or air handler is required to properly operate this type of system.

Variable Speed 20 S.E.E.R. Heat Pumps

This is the current cutting edge of technology. These heat pumps utilize an inverter compressor which is fully variable speed. These units are able to achieve up to 20 S.E.E.R. and 13.5 H.S.P.F., heating performance nearing the performance of geothermal heat pumps, without the need for a ground loop. This system offers unmatched dehumidification, the remarkable temperature distribution and the quiet operation you expect from the very best. This unit also requires a variable speed air handler or furnace to operate the system properly. Variable speed heat pumps are an excellent choice for homes with large temperature swings between levels.

**The eligibility for some utility rebates is determined by the S.E.E.R rating of the system you purchase. See your utility provider for details.
